Robert Burns Celebration Concert Jan. 18

at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, Downtown


A celebration of the music, songs and poems of Robert Burns, the national poet of Scotland, will be presented Friday, January 18 at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, 320 Sixth Ave., Downtown. Admission is $15/$5 for students. For additional information, call the church office at 412-471-3436 or see www.fpcp.org.
Featured performers for “A Man’s a Man for All That,” The Legacy of Robert Burns include the musicians of Road to the Isles - George Balderose (bagpipes), Richard Hughes (vocals, guitar and Irish flute), and Charles May (fiddle), as well as vocals by Bob Murdoch (The Tartan Tenor), recitations by native Scot Gordon Reid, and emcee duties performed by native Scot Arthur McAra.
The Burns celebration is part of First Church’s Music for the Spirit concert series, which continues on Friday, March 14 at 8 p.m. with a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration featuring Guaranteed Irish. An Irish corned beef and cabbage dinner precedes the concert at 6:30 p.m.

This extraordinary exhibit showcases real human bodies, which have been meticulously dissected and preserved.

Visitors can take a close-up look inside the skeletal, muscular, respiratory, and circulatory systems and come face-to-face with polymer-preserved human bodies. Approximately 200 additional organs and partial specimens reveal the intricacies and complexities that lie beneath the skin.

Magee Night at Menopause the Musical

Menopause the Musical comes to town in January 2008 at the Byham Theatre. Magee has blocked tickets for two shows on January 18 at 6PM and 9PM. We will have a VIP reception in between shows at Olive or Twist (across the street from the Byham). VIP tickets are $75 and general are $60. Give your friends a "Girls Night Out" for Christmas. This show is one of the funniest shows I've seen and you can go to www.menopausethemusical.com to check it out. Deadline to order tickets is December 14th.
