Mr. Smalls Recording Studio Open House & Open Jam Session!
Calendar: Local Calendar

10 Feb 2008
) On Sunday, February 10th, Mr. Smalls Recording Studio will have a revolving door from 5-9 p.m. Tours and information sessions will be held all evening as local musicians unleash their musical flair during open jams. Instruments including guitars, basses, amps, drums and organs will be set up throughout the studio so people can get a feel for the recording environment.

Mr. Small’s first open house which was held in December proved to be a success, providing the numerous musicians who attended with a place to network among both their peers and professionals. They had a chance to exchange ideas and try new musical techniques, broadening their musical horizons while gaining the opportunity to become familiar with the new recording facilities.

Come by on February 10th to take a look around, jam out, rock out and meet any and all of your musical and inspirational needs.

“The first open house and especially the jam session was too much fun. I never get the chance to just play music with completely random people for no reason – It was the most awesome thing. I think that a lot of people were really surprised by how spacious and laid back of an environment the new studio is.” said Liz Berlin (Rusted Root and Mr. Small’s co-owner)
This open house is the second public opportunity to see all of the improvements that have taken place since Smalls took over the historic facility that used to house Audiomation and AAM Studios. With this new move, Smalls has upgraded their equipment to feature Pro-Tools HD with 5.1 mixing capabilities, and have also completely re-designed the control rooms, kitchen and lounges to make it a comfortable and creatively stimulating environment. Along with these rooms, Mr. Smalls’ 20,000 square foot facility holds two studio rooms consisting of 5 interconnected yet isolated glass rooms ranging in size from a 152 square foot isolation room to the magnificent 1,000 square foot main tracking room boasting hard wood floors, 18 foot high ceilings and ample baffles to tailor the room’s sound to the needs of the client. With a wealth of diversity in recording styles, techniques and tools, the studio meets and delivers on any musician’s dreams.
The Mr. Smalls Northside studio is located at 922 W. North Ave. Pittsburgh PA 15233

Pittsburgh International Children’s Theater is pleased to welcome back Big Wooden Horse Theatre Company’s musical adaptation of Caldecott Honor-winning picture book, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” by Mo Willems. The friendly bus driver leaves us with one simple instruction: “Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus!” However, Pigeon is very clever and whines, pleads, and even sings a song to get his own way. Filled with feathers, music, laughter and fun, this interactive production is suitable for ages 3 to 8, but appeals to the inner kid in everyone.
