"It's About Time" Novice ROAD RALLY in the country Sunday 9/21 noon
Calendar: Local Calendar

21 Sep 2008
The Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Car Club (BRMSCC) located in Pittsburgh invites you to our next monthly road rally.
“It’s About Time XV,” Sunday September 21st, 2008
Registration starts at 12:00 pm with the First Car Off 1:01 pm. Fee $10 per car. Rallymaster Chuck Larouere
This beginner friendly road rally will start in the parking lot of the (Pool City/Pat Catan) shopping center off of Route 22, at the Monroeville / Murrysville border. (2.8 miles east of PA Turnpike Monroeville exit) Please see www.brmscc.org for additional details and flyer.
The BRMSCC has been running monthly TSD style Road Rallies in and around the western Pennsylvania countryside continuously since 1955. In TSD Road Rallying (Time Speed Distance), each team consisting of a driver and navigator is given a set of route directions to follow, and the speeds at which they should travel the route. The goal is to travel the correct route at the correct speeds, and arrive at “checkpoints” precisely on time. It is not a race, in fact arriving early or late at checkpoints hurts a team’s score. Rallying it is a precision driving event with puzzle-solving challenges along the way. Rallies are run on public roads, generally quiet rural roads, and are suitable for any regular family car. At the very least participants will enjoy a fun drive on scenic country roads!
The BRMSCC and its members help to write and run the popular Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Kick Off Rally every year. In BRMSCC rallies beginners compete against each other in a separate Novice Class and are encouraged to bring family and friends along.
The BRMSCC hopes that you will come out experience the family fun and excitement of road rallying and learn why we like to say “Are you ready to rally……..”
For more info call (412) 322-6368 or checkout http://www.brmscc.org for rally schedule and rallying tutorials.
