Calendar: Local Calendar

26 Jul 2008
LEMURtron is a modern musical extravaganza like you've never seen or heard before! Combining common and unusual musical instruments with robotic technology, the exhibit features a futuristic 'band' of music makers with members that include GuitarBot, ModBots and the infamous Ill-Tempered Clangier. YOU "play" the "Bots" by moving and dancing on the lighted dance floor, making your own concert of techno music.
LEMURtron is created by LEMUR (League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots), a Brooklyn, NY-based group of artists and technologists creating exotic, sculptural musical instruments which integrate robotic technology. LEMUR was founded by Eric Singer in 2000.

Urinetown - the musical
Calendar: Local Calendar
Quercus
26 Jul 2008
Urinetown is an award-winning satirical comedy musical that pokes fun at capitalism, social irresponsibility, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and petty small town politics, as well as advocating environmentalism. Urinetown rejects musical theatre convention, parodying successful Broadway shows such as Les Misérables, Evita, Annie and West Side Story, and even satirizes its own significance. In reverse pantomime style, the unconventional plotline shatters audience expectations of a pleasant ending.

Contestants of the latest reality television craze Leftover - the cable access answer to Survivor - discover reality bites, as they are stalked by a crazy killer. Competition is stiff and they just might wind up dead if they don't watch their backs. The host only cares that a body count is good for ratings, carved coconuts contain cryptic threats, the Vaseline is running low and no one thought to bring a coffin as a luxury item. Enjoy an evening of dinner and death with the interactive Survivor parody murder mystery. Be prepared to search for clues and laugh away with an evening's comedy. The lucky few may get to compete with the castaways - to see who will be crowned Leftover.
Without A Cue Murder Mysteries, a Philadelphia-based touring theater compnay, is proud to present "Coconuts and Carnage". The interactive comedy company, which has toured extensively throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware is popular due to its expert use of audience participation, mixed with the comedic talents of the cast.

Stonewall's Bust
Farce | Written by John Morogiello
July 22 - August 3

Winner of the 1007 Mountain Playhouse Internation Comedy Playwriting Contest

Paul, a professional skeptic from New York, accidentally breaks a priceless statue of Stonewall Jackson at a confederate heritage museum owned by his girlfriend's mother. Embarrassed and fearful, Paul claims the statue "just fell off" the pedestal, setting in motion a series of ever larger lies and misunderstandings that eventually lead to an exorcism on live television, and a hard choice between his personal safety and the woman he loves. Don't miss this world premiere farce!
