The Gutter Twins w/ Ed Harcourt @ Mr. Smalls Theatre

"It started pretty innocently," Mark Lanegan claims of the genesis behind Saturnalia, the much-anticipated first album from The Gutter Twins, the collaboration forged by him and fellow maverick singer-songwriter Greg Dulli. Innocent, however, seems an odd word to lash to anything involving this near-mythic duo, comprised of what Pitchforkmedia.com proclaims are "two of alt-rock's greatest front-men." And its darkest. Saturnalia, however, finds the axis Dulli nicknamed "the Satanic Everly Brothers" going even deeper into the shadows than ever before. Mystical, unpredictable, ultimately masterful, Saturnalia both embodies and defies any expectations suggested by the principals' individual notoriety. Featuring a caravan of all-star guests giving dimension to its rawly confessional, ambitious themes, The Gutter Twins' debut ascends to a new, surprising place in both artists' canon. "As much as I find it spiritual, it's very much of the flesh," Dulli says of Saturnalia. "The flesh suffers and exults, and it transgresses and transcends."

At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. A typical Toastmasters club is made up of 10 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation. We meet on the University Of Pittsburgh's campus in L-5 Clapp Hall (Lowy Room), on the corner of Fifth and Tennyson Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, across from the Cathedral of Learning. We meet from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Wednesday of each month.

MIXED UP WEDNESDAYS

"Mixed up Wednesdays" takes place each Wednesday night at Lava Lounge located at 2204 East Carson Street on Pittsburgh's South Side. Resident DJ Ian Friend and special guests Adammmm and Sasqautch of MFPA fame spin classic and current underground dance music, old skool hip hop, 80's new wave and much more. The event runs from 10p.m. to 2a.m. with no cover, drink specials and 50 wings from the Double Wide Grill.
It's hard not get into the groove with the likes of Brazil's own CSS & Bonde Do Role blasting through the speakers. The dj's could at that point twist and turn you directly to france by spinning some of their current underground craze by the likes of Yelle, Ca$hmere or SebastiAn.
It's hard to know where else they will take you with the every growing collection of music and tracks that were purchased and debuted mere hours before the start of the event. One thing is for sure: Mixed Up Wednesdays is not for the faint heart but the party animals.

LEMURtron is a modern musical extravaganza like you've never seen or heard before! Combining common and unusual musical instruments with robotic technology, the exhibit features a futuristic 'band' of music makers with members that include GuitarBot, ModBots and the infamous Ill-Tempered Clangier. YOU "play" the "Bots" by moving and dancing on the lighted dance floor, making your own concert of techno music.
LEMURtron is created by LEMUR (League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots), a Brooklyn, NY-based group of artists and technologists creating exotic, sculptural musical instruments which integrate robotic technology. LEMUR was founded by Eric Singer in 2000.
