Walk for Food Allergy, to benefit the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), on September 14, 2008 at Hartwood Acres.
Approximately 300 Pittsburgh area residents are expected to attend to help raise funds for food allergy awareness, education and research. Also expected to attend are Sally Wiggin and Stephen Cropper from WTAE. Country music superstar Trace Adkins will be joining them in spirit as the national honorary chair.
12 million Americans have food allergies, approximately 112,000 of those are children living here in Pennsylvania. Food Allergies cause between 150-200 deaths and approximately 30,000 ER visits in the US every year, and this is a growing problem.
The walk starts at 1pm, with registration at noon. For more information, to register for the walk, or to make a donation to the Pittsburgh event please visit www.foodallergywalk.org.
