World Premiere Historical Drama | Written by Rob Barron
September 17 - 28

The making of a man. The making of a president.

In honor of the 250th anniversary celebrations for Pittsburgh and other historical sites in wouthwestern Pennsylvania, the Mountain Playhouse has commissioned a historical drama detailing the life of George Washington in the years during the French and Indian War. Penned by playwright Rob Barron, who has written several plays for the Playhouse stage including the acclaimed 5/31/90: THE FLOOD, Barron's play promises a look at the man who would rise to become a founding father of the nation while he was still a young militia officer fighting the French in the very hills that surround the Mountain Playhouse.

Terry Fator is perhaps the first entertainer to combine the art of ventriloquism with celebrity impressions. His puppets, including Cowboy Walter, Emma Taylor and Winston the Impersonating Turtle, effortlessly perform the singing styles of an eclectic group of stars including: Tony Bennett, Elvis, Garth Brooks, Nat King and Natalie Cole, Roy Orbison, Gnarls Barkley, Brooks & Dunn, members of The Rat Pack, Louis Armstrong and Kermit The Frog.

This Dallas native, whose career has reached a whole new level since winning “America’s Got Talent,” has been headlining at sold out shows nationwide. The Mirage in Las Vegas recently signed Terry to a five year deal beginning in 2009, in which he'll be performing five days a week at the Terry Fator Theatre.

AVS’ 2008 gala will support the Capital Development Fund to benefit the more than 900 children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are served by AVS throughout Pennsylvania.
