Trinity Gallery will showcase the work of local artist/gallery owner, Dan Gaser. The exhibition, HIE, will run from April 19 through May 31, 2008. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 7PM to 9:30PM and is free to the public.
A Pittsburgh native, Dan Gaser uses black and white, high speed infrared film to show the world from a very different perspective by capturing thermal energy rather than visible light on film.

Life on Mars, the 2008 Carnegie International explores the important yet continually perplexing question of what it means to be human in the world today. Curated by Douglas Fogle, curator of contemporary art at Carnegie Museum of Art, the provocative Life on Mars will present the varying perspectives of 40 artists, spanning generations and continents. The exhibition will include diverse media, from painting, sculpture, and drawing to animation, film, installation, and performance—all searching for the sublime in the confusion of everyday life.

The brain’s abilities are illustrated through cyclists racing in the Tour De France. Over the course of the event, they are caught up in hair-raising crashes, dramatic battles over the Alps and Pyrenees and action-packed descents down steep mountain roads. Their ultimate goal? The finish line on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

The film raises the questions "how do they do this?" and "why do they do this?" Ultimately the answers lie within the mind and the human brain itself.
