24 Jan 2008
Jim Weber, Ph.D., Professor of Business Ethics and Director of the Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics at Duquesne University will moderate a panel of communication professionals from various new media discussing real life ethical delimmas using case studies.
In the ever changing world of new media, ethical dilemmas occur as quickly as the media itself changes. How do you, as a communicator, wade through the ongoing changing media to make decisions that are right for you, your organization, and your customers? In this highly interactive session, a panel of expert communicators in new media will discuss various issues and situations that they have encountered in their work with clients. Dr. Weber will set the stage by outlining frameworks for ethical decision making. The panel will use this information to present ethical issues related to new media, discuss alternatives, and determine solutions with interaction and input from the audience. Come prepared with scenarios or questions on ethical dilemmas you have faced with social media, web sites, podcasts, blogs or other media.

Wired to Win, an extraordinary new film in IMAX®, showcases the amazing ability of the human brain to overcome adversity, accomplish the near-impossible, and power each of us to victory and success in life.

The brain’s abilities are illustrated through cyclists racing in the Tour De France. Over the course of the event, they are caught up in hair-raising crashes, dramatic battles over the Alps and Pyrenees and action-packed descents down steep mountain roads. Their ultimate goal? The finish line on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

The film raises the questions "how do they do this?" and "why do they do this?" Ultimately the answers lie within the mind and the human brain itself.

$8 adults; $6 children 3-12 and seniors 62+

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat!

January 24 – February 3, 2008

Byham Theater
In the heart of the cultural district

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has proven to be one of the most enduring and endearing shows of all time. Taken from the book of Genesis, the story of Joseph and his 11 brothers is the first musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice. Joseph is wrapped in a tuneful score that runs the gamut of rock'n roll styles. The message of hope in the story reveals a truth of our humanity: "One can never know how events will turn out, so trust your individual values." This season, don't miss Joseph. “
