Default Frick Environmental Center

The Frick Environmental Center was gutted by fire in August 2002. Today the burnt building remains, and "$1.5M still isn't enough to rebuild Frick Environmental Center." That article, dated March 15, 2007, states that "Councilman Doug Shields, who represents the part of Squirrel Hill that includes the environmental center, asked for patience." Sure, monies went to the Schenly Plaza and Nine Mile Run, but almost five years? Isn't that enough patience? And here's one more quote from the article: "Despite its dilapidated appearance, and 'Danger: High voltage' signs on the roof, the structure is not a safety hazard, Shields said." Hmm...

I spend alot of time in the park and think it's sad that it's just sitting there untouched.
